Frustrating Day

Well, the new tenants moved in, and the old tenants still have stuff in the garage. (It is in the garage only because dad and I put it there, otherwise it would be in the house) They were going to be at the house at 11:30 today, but they never showed up. I waited until about 8:30 pm. [Not sitting waiting.....still cleaning waiting] Utah law says you have to store their stuff in a 'safe and protected place' for 30 days. I'm not storing the smelly things that they left, which includes a fridge full of food, that is dripping and running all over the garage floor. Why would ANYONE want to be a landlord. Spare me! Now they are staying at a BEAUTIFUL motel called Country Inn by Marriott. When you are 'broke' and can't afford something, don't you go to a Motel 6, or camp out on your sister's floor? {They said they have tons of family here in the valley}........I guess that now they are on 'vacation', I checked the prices for 8 people......$250/night. Growl. And they didn't pay their water or sewer bill. Double growl. Or their rent, but that is obvious.

Mice/Voles

Right by our front steps we noticed a hole in the ground, and some trails that looked like snake trails through the grass. I 'googled' lawn pests with round holes and 'snake' trails, and came up with a video on how to catch what are commonly called voles, but are really just field mice. Dad watched the video, went out and set the traps, and there he was this morning, just like in the video, caught in the mouse trap half in and half out of the hole. We aren't sure how many there are, so we still have the traps set up. Amazing what you can Google!

Oquirrh Mountain Temple Dedication

It was amazing to be in the Celestial Room at the Temple Dedication. I admit that when I saw dad walk in with the choir, it made me cry to see his beautiful face, the face I love! After the wonderful dedicatory session, President Monson asked the choir director to come up. He shook his hand and said, "Best choir ever." Amazing and wonderful experience.

Birds

There are song birds singing the sweetest songs I've ever heard outside my window today. Do you suppose they are eating my plums?

My eyes

Ouch! My eyes have been hurting SO much lately. The last few days I was sure I was going blind. I spent a goodly portion of two days on my bed in a dark room with my eyes shut. I went to the eye Dr. He said that I do have my right eye tugging on my retna......and so to be careful and not jog, jump, play volleyball or do any jerking movements with my head.........I told him but my other eye hurts too. Yesterday there was even a VERY distinct color difference between eyes (what I saw, not what my eyes looked like). My left eye had a tan veil over it. He said I had one of two things....either a migraine in my eyes or a mild stroke. I took the migraine answer! After I got home, dad and I got to thinking: you know, it might be that last week I got clonked on the head really hard twice! Maybe that has something to do with it. [The first clonk when when I was vacuuming the stairs and the vacuum was at the top of the stairs, and I was near the bottom when it came flying down the stairs and clonked me on the head hard enough that I saw stars. The next was when I was helping to carry some boxes out of Annie's neighbors garage and hit the SAME place on the ladder they had hanging from their garage ceiling. Maybe I really had a concussion? Anyway.........It still hurts to look out of these portals, but I am getting better, I think. :)

Cinnamon Wood Home

Can I just say that I don't want to own any homes but the one I live in. I never, ever, ever, ever want to be a landlord. I don't like to be the mean guy in the neighborhood to evict tenants. I HATE that weight on my shoulders. UGGGGHHHH!!! But, it is also not my fault that they don't pay! [But 'if we pay, we can't make our car payement.'].......Well, if you don't pay we can't buy groceries------and would you like to trade cars with me? Frustrating. Thanks for letting me vent a bit on my blogspot!

There's a hole in the bottom of the sea........

And Meri's keys fell in the hole..........! Because she is on 'vacation' and can't blog at the moment--poor girl was heading to Seattle so they could take the kids to Enchanted Parks. It was cheaper to stop and buy tickets at a discount than to wait until the day they went (today) to buy them......so Meri stopped. Then there was a ton of traffic (got to love Seattle area rush hour)--and Meri was driving with the kids. Lance was already in Seattle. So, there was this lovely park and she said, "Why don't we play at the park for an hour before we finish heading up to Sara's?" So, they did. Then there was this lake with paddle boats. Meri is always up for a great time......so they went out in the paddle boat. About in the middle of the lake, there went Meri's keys.......The water was so murky that there was no way for her to possibly see them even if she dove in after them. So, she called a lock smith. Hmmmmmm. Her car needed a code from a dealership. The dealerships were closed at 6:00. She was parked in a 4 hour zone. The lady at the park said it was a high car theft and vandalism zone. So, she had to have the car towed to the dealership. It was going to take the tow truck a while to get there....so Lance came down, got the kids and took them to Bobbi's and then was going to head back to pick up Merilee....They were going to sleep at Bobbi's instead of Sara's because it was closer, and they have to be back to the dealership early to get a key made so that they can get to Enchanted Parks by 9:00 to meet friends there. I told her I hope that this wasn't the beginnings of what is to come on this 'vacation'. Doesn't sound very restful.....more stressful! But, later they will laugh about it!

Karl Sealander and Son Eric (Edith's Son and Grandson)

My cousin Sue, Cena's daughter

Dad and Kristen taking a sun break. This was the coldest day of August. Broke records!

Ruth's daughter, Anita, one of the funnest, kindest people on earth.

Lisa and Kristen in the cool forest play place at Lundstrom Park, Logan, UT

Leslie, (my cousin in law) Cena's family, Roberts wife and Robert Sealander (Edith's)

I took a few great pictures of Grandpa as the auctioneer.......but I 'lost' them somehow. I also had other relatives that I took pictures of that I lost. Hmmmmmmm.
But, you have lots of nice relatives, and there were some of the most beautiful cherry trees that were LOADED with Cherries at the park.......Fun and Yum! Mom's sisters are Arlouine (deceased) Ruth (deceased) Edith (deceased) Alice (deceased) Aaltje (deceased) Jensine (Cena), Mom, and then her younger sister, Jalna (who is actually Ruth's daughter)--but raised as one of the sisters........Jalna was 16 when she found out her mother was really her grandmother.

Grandpa had a ball! He loved driving his restored tractor, and pulling his family.

Here is a small portion of the Koester Klan riding behind the tractor. Cade and Brennan liked throwing out the candy.

Carrie and 4 of her 6. She has 2 other boys that look identical to the one sitting there!

Mom and Rick

Rick, Stephanie, Meredith and Sarah

Stephanie and Girls, plus come of Carrie's girls leaving the juggling show

Brennan was a little worried about the juggler.

A blurry picture of the juggler. He was really good and fun.

Thanks!

Thanks for all the new posts! That was fun!
Aunt Rita told me she paid $475 for my bird bath bowl 37 years ago. Whoever inherits it, it is my most valuable inanimate object that we own. You are my most valuable possessions!
