I was at the bookstore, and there was a book that was called something like Closer to Christ in 21 days. It was almost 20 dollars, so I didn't buy it..and I thought I probably didn't need a book to help me get closer to Christ--the scriptures and prayers and diligence could do just as well--So I am committing to two things (publically, so that I am accountable to more than myself): To exercise every day (except Sunday), MINIMUM 1/2 hour on the tredmill. To be more diligent in my praying, scripture reading and contemplative time so that I do become closer to Christ and more Christlike. Hopefully a little weight loss will happen during this 21 days, too.....:) That would be an added bonus.
Today I rode my bike to the mouth of Butterfield Canyon. (and back). I don't know how far it is, probably only about 5 miles or so.......but it is uphill the entire way, and very tiring. But, I did it!!

Good for you Mom! Sounds like great goals and aspirations! Good luck!
I think I should join you. At least if you are trying your best, then you can be at peace with how things turn out.
I will also join the bandwagon!! It can't hurt.
Wow! Good for you! Part of our new routine is to include Joshua in our family scripture study and have him sit through it. He has his own little book about the life of Jesus that he can look at. My biggest exercise goal is to do stretches with Joshua before we go out and play. The muscles throughout my entire body are bunched up in knots (I think still because of that fall from my unicycle), and I really need to take care of that so I can continue to move.
I like Allie's comment about being at peace if you have tried your best. I always like to get everything just right (especially when it comes to living the gospel and caring for my family), but, of course, it doesn't always happen that way. It is a wonderful thing to be able to look back on life and be happy knowing that I have tried hard. I am grateful for a Savior who makes up the difference.
