Dad said he feels a bit like a gooey-duck!!! {For those who don't know a gooey-duck is a razor clam---they have this long neck thing that looks like dad's head and neck!}

Ouch!

I have one of those sore throats that makes it so you would much rather drool than swallow--ACHES even if you are not swallowing, and makes the ears hurt.  If I were a baby, I would be crying.  Since I'm a grandma, I guess I'll just tough it out.  Ouch, ouch, ouch! 

Seems Odd!

Almost all of my worldly possessions are now ensconsed in this ugly white trailer, where it will cook all summer under Utah skies until we can hopefully rescue it and remove the baked contents this Fall.......unless life has something else to send our way.........

No fun!

Three fourths of the day through the day yesterday I was slammed with a cold.. I just went to Sacrament meeting, came home and just slept like a slug for seven hours.  I think I'll go have dinner and go back to bed.........:)  Would somebody feed me?  My hands still hurt too much to hold a spoon!

How wimpy of me!!!

Well, I lasted 2 weeks at Beehive clothing.  It is just not a job I can do.........It aches my hands, my eyes, my shoulders and neck.  (The hands are the worst, OUCH!)  But, it is the pay thing.  Today my GROSS pay would have been $34.  That is just not worth it.  The lady on the machine next to mine has done that SAME job for 20 years.  She said once they start you on a job, that is where you stay.  She is still at the $9/hour piece rate that I am at.  If you do something wrong, then you don't get paid for your bundle.  It is just not worth it........!  I would rather scrub toilets, work at McDonalds or dig ditches.

Be thankful!

If you are someone that wears drilux garments......be thankful to the sewers of those underclothings!  It is thin, flimsy, gets sucked into the machine, stretches too much, and isn't the most fun fabric to sew.
Today I did 30 bundles of 20 garments (for 600, with 100% quality)    'Close right shoulder' is my designated title.  "This is Lori, close right shoulder."  That is how I am introduced.  [i.e. This is Judy, 'women's wasteband elastic']......
I, honestly, sewed just as fast as I could.  Six hundred is 1/3 the expected daily sewing 'requirement'.  For my first full day of sewing, they said that 30 was fantastic (well, of course, they didn't say those exact words.....but I filled in the appropriate adjective:)
I now have fantastic health insurance, dental insurance and eye insurance.  I can go to the Dr./Dentist/Chiropractor or Eye Dr for only $15.  I have NEVER had that in my entire adult life.....too bad that now I have insurance, I don't have the $15!  Ha! [Just kidding!]

It's April, and we're fooled!!!

This is our April Fools Joke Today...........It snowed all day yesterday, but just kind of wet and melty stuff.  This is what we woke up to today, and it is still snowing fit to beat the band.  I don't know why you can't see the snowflakes falling down in the pictures, because it is snowing hard!!
