Storm of the century

It was a dark and stormy NOON!

All of this was heading for the window well.........

Running in buckets down the street

This was what was left of the hail after 2 hours of 'bailing' and tons of rain on top of it.
Pictures don't do this storm justice. We were lucky, I started bailing as soon as I noticed the water coming in.....however, it was raining SO hard, I had a hard time keeping up with the amount poring in. It got up to about 15 inches above the sill level of the window........pouring in as fast as I could bail, but we ended up with only about 20 gallons of water in the basement, and hundreds of gallons out in the street. I was feeling desperate, and facing a losing battle. I called in reinforcments to help. (DAD). Now we're both soaked. Dad, being dad, also went to help his home teaching families bail after he was done with ours.

Yea, really not a pretty sight today is it? Our maple tree is so wet that the leaves are only 4 feet above the front stairs... good thing Michael whacked it off when he did or we wouldn't be able to get in our house. Really missing the garage right now... :) Good luck w/ the flooding issue! Call us if you need help!
